The Standard and Toy Manchester
Terrier - LONESTAR MANCHESTER TERRIERS.
We are just laid
back, plain Jane everyday people, who love animals. We
have had animals all of our lives. We live beyond the
city limits here in Burleson, Texas, which allows us
to have a larger facility than average and yet still
keep within the “homey
atmosphere” for
raising loving Manchester
Terriers.
We have facilities for our Manchester Terrier “kids” during
the day to have exercise, eat, drink and sleep comfortably.
In the evening we allow groups of Terriers selectively
chosen to run and play with each other before “retiring” to
their inside individual crates with their own bedding
and treat. Then those that have the "house rotation",
come inside the house for extra TLC, additional house
training, maybe practice their "show stack" or
go visiting. We may go to our local shopping center or to a friends house for
socialization. Then we decide who gets to sleep with whom - Mom or Dad! Never
a dull moment here!
We raise both Standard and Toy Manchester Terriers
with sound minds
which collectively goes with sound bodies. We do
not jeopardize “winning
characteristics” for healthy bodies and minds.
Our Manchesters are family first, show animals second.
We work on producing a very good example of the Manchester
Terrier breed standard as well as a “nice to
live with” family
companion.

We go to shows for the hobby element of raising
Manchester Terriers. Our winnings and placements
are purely attained by the quality we show not
as a result of ANY political favors or manipulations.
We are kind, respectful and courteous to our
fellow competitors as well as having good sportsmanship
when we compete. Never looking to see how we
can barely stay within the realm of decency while
competing. So, no we do not win 100% of the time,
but we do our share of “kicking
ass” in the ring. |
We are truthful, sometimes bluntly so,
and very protective of where and how we place our Standard
and Toy “kids”.
We consider them as “little people in dog clothing”!
We have taken our Manchester Terrier bloodlines and made them healthier by
making some very difficult decisions to stop health issues and
possibly depriving ourselves of some very nice show specimens.
We now several years later into our
Standard and Toy breeding program do
not regret the decision(s) we made. We know we have sound
minds and healthy bodies. We will continue testing for
health issues.
When we have Manchester Terrier pets available the
are NO less in quality (except for conformation qualities)
than our “show” Manchesters. We breed and
keep ONLY what is better than we already have for show/breeding
stock. Is this not what improving the breed means and
the way to do it?
Individuals who do adopt a family member
from us have the comfort of knowing if they have questions
or issue with something they can call us 24/7 now or
years from now, NO PROBLEM! We always welcome visits,
even if on short notice. We do not need to do any kind
of covering up before we open our doors to people.
Manchesters are fun and we like to share the joy of
the Manchester Terrier breed, so if you are ever in
